The North Island Royals won bronze at the U15 AA provincial baseball championship tournament in Victoria.

The fall brings a tremendous amount of excitement and motivation towards youth soccer. The start of the season ensures all players, parents and coaches are enthused. The key is to find ways to maintain this level of excitement to ensure it carries through the season. For some, the season may wrap up in four months before cold weather becomes part of your soccer routine. For others, it may run seven to 10 months, depending on the length of your program and success of your team.

Comox Valley United鈥檚 Division 3 men鈥檚 team is preparing for its second season in the Vancouver Island Soccer League.

Sunnydale Thursday Night Ladies July 27: Colleen Robson had the longest drive on #1; Mary Lynn Doubinin was closest to the tree on the right on #2; Louise Bustard was closest to the pin second shot on #3 and was closest to the pin third shot on #5; Judy Mann was in the sandtrap on #4 and had the lowest putts; Deb Hames had the longest putt on #7; and Cora Hawkins was the most honest golfer.

It was an exciting and hot weekend for six AAA swimmers of the Comox Valley Sharks who competed in the third and final championship meet of the season July 6-9 in Kamloops.

On Saturday, Aug. 12 from 9-10 a.m. at the Lewis Park courts, bring your little ones, three to six years old, to try out tennis.

Triathlete continues a busy stretch with another win

Comox golfer Riley Wheeldon missed the cut at the Canadian Open at the Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ont. He shot 74 on Thursday and an even par 72 on Friday.
