In its 28th season, the popular Comox Valley Tri-K Triathlon welcomes a new title sponsor. "The team at Shoreline Orthodontics is happy to be joining the annual event," an event spokesperson said after event chair Rick Gibson made the announcement late last week.

Tee off time is 9 a.m.; golfers are asked to be at the club by 8:30 a.m. On April 10 everyone is welcome to official opening day with an 18-hole scramble at 1 p.m. (arrive by 12:30 p.m.). Also sign up before spring meeting to follow with dinner after. Ben is doing a Greek-inspired dinner which will cost $17.

Logan Yanick of Courtenay finished two shots off the pace in the boys 14 & under division at the CJGA Nike Golf Junior Series/Stephen Ames Cup Qualifier, held March 12-13 at Hazelmere Country Club in Surrey.

The Royal Military College of Canada鈥檚 women鈥檚 soccer program will be on Vancouver Island this week for spring competition. The trip will give six of the Paladin team members, including Courtenay鈥檚 Paige Campbell, a chance to represent RMC in their home province in front of family and friends.
