Dear editor, Do the taxpayers of the Comox Valley really want the regional district to erect a $2.9-million state-of-the-art homeless shelter right at the entrance to our coveted downtown business district? Do those same taxpayers realize that this structure will net a grand total of 10 additional beds, which will provide emergency housing for street people?

This isn’t necessarily a bad thing — in their wisdom, voters have elected people who contribute a diversity of experience and philosophy that helps to ensure a wide range of Comox Valley perspectives will be represented.
