Matthias Smith, a product of the Comox Valley Minor Hockey system, has landed in Concord, New Hampshire where he tends goal in an elite U16 league.

The VIPL Marine Harvest Riptide is holding the first sessions for 2005-born soccer players for the 2018-2019 season. Open trials serve to support team trials that will see the squad selected by April 15. Trials provide each player an opportunity to play in front of Riptide coaches in an effort to be assessed. They also enable parents to learn more about the program.

The Atmosphere Mind Over Mountain Adventure Race (MOMAR) returned to Cumberland Sept. 23 for its 18th season. Six hundred racers participated in the off-road multisport race, gathering on the shores of Comox Lake early Saturday morning to take on either the 50km Enduro Course or 30km Sport Course.
