Dear editor,
I recently had to spend an overnight in our Hospital Emergency ward. This letter is to express my appreciation of the kindness of the men and women who look after our ER. They look after an enormous number of patients as I was able to observe from my stretcher, and in the past I have had to have a serious injury looked after.
We are so fortunate to have this hospital and the people who do their best to take care of us. I am able to speak both from experience and because my late husband, Dr. Paterson, was the Director of Services for the Prince George Regional Hospital. The work and worry are never ending and yet our lovely hospital and medical people do their best.
If you feel you can please donate to our Comox Valley HealthCare Foundation which I do regularly. We do hear about various communities who either lose their hospitals or have them close regularly due to financial problems and staffing problems.
Thank you,
Jeannette Paterson
