The Comox Valley Land Trust’s fourth annual photo contest is now accepting entries. The Purpose of the contest is to highlight the beauty and importance of nature in the Valley. All photographers are encouraged to participate.
Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, this contest offers a chance to showcase your skills and potentially win fantastic prizes. Entries will be accepted until May 31, with the rule that photos come from within the Comox Valley Regional District and are taken outdoors.
Photos of domestic animals and plants don’t qualify. The land trust would love to see photos that include people enjoying nature, though permission of the photo subject(s) is required.
The judging panel, comprised of three local photographers, will determine the winners. Prizes include a $1,000 gift card from London Drugs for the first-place winner, two alpine lift tickets and two days of equipment rental (alpine or Nordic) from Mount Washington Alpine Resort for the second-place winner, and a four-hour rental of two tandem kayaks from Comox Valley Kayaks and Canoes for the third-place winner.
14 of the submitted images will be chosen for the Comox Valley Conservation Partnership 2026 wall calendar. Beyond the prizes, the contest serves as an opportunity to celebrate the natural wonders of the Valley.
As a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and restoring nature, the Comox Valley Land Trust has been instrumental in safeguarding over 670 hectares of ecologically significant land since its inception in 1999.For more information, including contest details, rules, and submission forms, visit the CVLand Trust’s website at .
