The City of Courtenay's recreation department is looking for some gnarly young crafters.
"Showcase your talents and bring your items for sale to the Gnarly Spring Craft Fair," a release from the city says.
Courtenay Recreation is hosting the fair at the Native Sons Hall from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 3 as part of Youth Week Celebrations.
Youth crafters aged 9 to 19 years are invited to register a table for $10.
The crafters bring an impressive array of products to the fair, with youth crafters and patrons returning each year. Over the years, youth have sold photography, cards, sewing, baking, woodwork, painting, jewellery, plants and more.
“This market is a great opportunity to practice for youth to test out their products and entrepreneurial skills. Youth can share a table and sell their extra wares with a friend,” says Alexis Forbes, children and youth programming supervisor. “We are also encouraging the community to come out shopping to support over 25 youth crafters – pick up something special in advance of Mother’s Day, or a treat for yourself!”
