Dear editor,
I am writing this letter in regards to my actions, and want to make full amends and ask forgiveness to all involved.
In November I was in a motor vehicle accident and lied to the RCMP and ICBC when I told them that I had been the victim of a carjacking. I should not have been driving that night due to the fact that I was extremely tired, and had taken some cold medication, which I believe caused me to fall asleep at the wheel.
I thank God every day that I didn’t hurt anyone.
Deep down I knew I had to tell the truth; lies make you sick. I caused the homeowners fear and damage to their property.
Also BC Hydro, ambulance, fire, RCMP, and the towing company to be woken from their warm beds, and they worked long and hard on a very wet and stormy night. We as a community are very fortunate to have such great responders.
I am very grateful and truly sorry that I caused this. I am accepting full responsibility from my actions; I’ve had a lot of turmoil in my life and have had poor insight and judgment. I don’t want to make excuses or expect any sympathy.
I have done wrong and learned from this, I will live with this for the rest of my life emotionally, mentally, physically, and financially. I am hoping anyone reading this will learn not to do as I did.
