Dear editor,Just how dimwitted does St. Joseph’s Hospital president Michael Pontus think we are?He delayed seeking a review of misread CT scans out of respect for the radiologist who misread them?!Where is Pontus’ respect for the patients he is supposed to serve? Nowhere, apparently, as he continues to make excuses for himself while the hospital has lost accreditation, and now, patients have been misdiagnosed with their health and lives put in jeopardy.Why is Pontus still even at the hospital helm?By contrast, we should all salute Yvonne Kafka of Cumberland, who is demanding a full judicial inquiry into the mishandling of radiology screenings in B.C.But she should not have had to suffer as she did — because of the mishandling of her cancer screening at St. Joseph’s. How many other patients are now dead due to these faulty readings?Chris Ryland,Royston
