A new rugby season kicked off Sept. 10, with great results for both Comox Valley Kickers squads.

Tamara Nolan of Comox was crowned B.C.’s Strongest Woman at the amateur strongman provincial championships in Richmond on the Labour Day weekend. The 41-year-old has qualified for the national competition Oct. 22 in Thunder Bay, Ont.

In what seems like a blur, the summer holidays for schools draws to a close and kids prepare for another year of learning and great experiences in their local schools. However, for Dime Valley, it was a great summer, being able to run four week-long camps for the basketball crazy valley. Close to 150 youth participated.
