Comox Valley Glacier Kings beats Westshore Wolves
After losing a pair of games on the weekend, the Comox Valley Glacier Kings bounced back Wednesday with a 4-1 win over the Westshore Wolves in Victoria. The Yetis scored the first four goals of the game, two each in the first and second periods. Victoria scored early in the third.

Strong contingent of Comox Valley runners take on the Finlayson Arm
A number of Comox Valley athletes braved the daunting Finlayson Arm race, September in Goldstream park near Victoria. The weekend begins with a 100k on Friday, followed by a 50k on Saturday and a 28k on Sunday. For truly brave souls there is also The Double — a cumulative time of the 100k and 28k. The trails are at times technical, but there is also a substantial amount of climbing involved.

Comox Valley rugby team’s win streak snapped
After starting the season 4-0, the Comox Valley Kickers men’s rugby team saw their winning streak snapped after hosting the UVic Saxons, Saturday, Oct. 22 at Cumberland Village Park. Levi Friis and Joe Barker scored for the Kickers with Kyle Hall adding a penalty kick and two successful conversions for a final score of 17-58.

The Strathcona Nordic Ski Club hosted a Teck Regional Fall Dryland Camp late September at Mount Washington. Fifty athletes and 10 coaches from Vancouver Island took part in the initiative to better prepare young skiers for the race season.

Comox Valley men’s rugby team undefeated, women hit roadbump
In their first match on the mainland this season, the Comox Valley Kickers men’s rugby team beat the Surrey Beavers 46-20 on Saturday. Devon Moore, Craig Whiley and Brandon Hudson each scored two tries, Raffael Tonazzi and Derek McCubbin scored one each, and Kyle Hall added three conversions.
