The Comox Valley Volleyball Club kicks off its 2019 season with an AGM and Information/Sign-up Night, Thursday, Nov. 15 in the Multipurpose Room at Highland Secondary, 750 Pritchard Rd. in Comox. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The Comox Valley has entered two 45-and-older teams into the North Island Masters Soccer League, bumping the number of teams to seven.

Yetis host Generals Friday

Ash Mohtadi of the Comox Valley has received a BC Soccer Award of Merit for his long-time dedication to youth soccer.

The cross country team from Mark Isfeld Secondary made its mark Saturday at the B.C. High School Cross Country Championships in Nanaimo, and at the recent Vancouver Island High School Cross Country Championships in Victoria.

The Comox Valley Volleyball Camp provides athletes with an opportunity to play, improve and excel at the sport. Both this and the summer camp are the longest running volleyball camps in the North Island.

The North Island鈥檚 Schulte Racing Team (SRT) finished a respectable second place in the 2018 Canada West Doorslammers racing series, held at Mission Raceway Park. The Doorslammers is a fast drag class with cars capable of running at least 8.70 seconds in the 1/4 mile. The primary rule is that the cars must have working doors, hence 鈥淒oorslammers鈥�. In other words, no dragsters.
