The VIU Mariners men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 soccer teams have both reached the gold medal match at the national collegiate championships. Several Comox Valley footballers are on the Mariners. Chloe Gummer and Justine McMahon play for the women, and Grayson Chalifoux, Travis Brown and Hans Haagerup for the men.

The Orange Sox Fastball program 鈥� developed to form a U16 boys team for the 2020 BC Summer Games 鈥� is launching its online registration portal. Each player will be able to register and participate in all team practices, clinics, training or team functions at no cost.

The Comox Valley peewee Tier 1 Chiefs hosted a 鈥淧ink the Rink鈥� Hockey Tournament on Thanksgiving weekend. Participants came from Campbell River to Victoria, and the Sunshine Coast and Ridge Meadows. After each game, an MVP award (pink socks) was given to each team鈥檚 best player, as well as a 鈥淒igger Award鈥� (pink puck) for each team鈥檚 hardest worker.
