BC Ferries experienced delays on the afternoon of March 22 after several passengers suddenly fell sick.
鈥淭here was an onboard incident yesterday afternoon involving six individuals who became ill in a stairwell and required medical attention,鈥� said Ritinder Matthew, BC Ferries鈥� director of media relations in a written statement.
Our 1:00 pm sailing from to departed 55 minutes behind schedule due to a medical emergency that has since been resolved.

BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) received a call at 12:10 p.m. about the incident, said spokesperson Jodi Gillich. Three ambulances with primary care and advanced care paramedics responded to the vessel at the Swartz Bay Terminal.
Two travellers were transported to the hospital, while the remaining customers received care onboard, added Matthew.
At this time, BC Ferries and BCEHS don鈥檛 have details on the cause of the incident.
As a result of this incident, the 1 p.m. sailing on March 22, from Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen, departed 55 minutes behind schedule.
