An avid fisherman, the most prized catch of Art Johnson's life was caught more than70 years ago.
Casting from River Road in New Westminster as a young lad, Art's eye was directed from the water to a young lady across the river.
That lady, Kris, would become his bride on April 28, 1955.
The couple, celebrating their 70th anniversary Monday, raised two sons and two daughters.
In 1967 they moved from Delta to a rambling 85-acre farm on the end of Cosens Bay Road.
"Fishing, farming, kids, dogs, cattle, horses, chickens and pigs....and of course, the door was always open," said daughter Sue Thompson in wishing her parents a Happy Anniversary.
The senior couple only just moved into Vernon a little over a year ago.
