The Comox Valley Family Services Association (CVFSA) will host its second annual fundraiser with Rockin’ Theme and Community Spirit.
After the overwhelming success of last year’s inaugural event, CVFSA is bringing back its annual fundraiser for a second round of music, dancing, and community connection.
Set for Friday, May 2 at the Florence Filberg Centre, the event will feature a full-course dinner by Custom Gourmet and a “Rockin’ Through the Ages” theme with live music from local favourites Time Well Wasted. Guests are encouraged to dress up as their favourite musical icon or rep their favourite decade. There will be a prize on the line for best costume.
"At CVFSA, we believe that every child deserves a strong foundation, and every family deserves a supportive community,” said Diane Daigle, CVFSA’s Executive Director. “The strength of our community isn't just in the challenges we overcome, but in the moments we come together to support our children and families”.
The evening will also feature a high-energy live auction, led by retired auctioneer Dave Stevens, with exciting items generously donated by local businesses and individuals.
Since opening its doors in 1974, CVFSA has supported thousands of families through child, youth and family programming, specialized counselling and victim services, prenatal and parenting support, and crisis response. As the cost of living climbs, the housing shortage continues, and mental health and addiction issues increase, so too does the need for services.
“Families in our community are under immense pressure,” said CVFSA Board President Brett Walker. “This event isn’t just about raising money — it’s about rallying together. The more people understand who we are and what we offer, the more effectively we can serve those who need us.”
This year’s fundraiser is made possible by the generous sponsorship of Quantum Dental Group, whose contribution ensures that 100 per cent of event proceeds go directly to CVFSA programs and services. Tables of 8 can be reserved for $600, and individual tickets are $100.
