Dear editor,
“The fascists of the future will call themselves anti-fascist.” (Winston Churchill)
I would like the local authorities to have more respect for retired people who have chosen Comox Valley for life.
The huge amount of money comes from retirees to the local economy.
In my opinion, there should be more settlements for retired people in quiet areas without heavy traffic. More parks with no dogs allowed so that I could walk without fear of stepping on dog waste, or be attacked by a dog. The dog population is growing. In my opinion, owners of big dogs should pay more for licences.
I have a serious problem on the street. Royal Vista Way has large dump trucks going to a dump at the end of Crown Isle.
Dirt, noise, dust, squeaky brakes, traffic all day long, starts from 7 a.m. and goes until evening. The dust stains our windows and balcony. I have to clean my balcony twice a week.
I was driving behind a large truck when a small rock hit my windshield, and caused a 20-centimetre crack. The truck company refused to pay the damage to my car because I did not have the truck’s plate number.
My wish is for the local authorities to respond to my complaints or comments, at least. I grew up in a communist system, and I would not like the same treatment in the Comox Valley.
