I would like to bring attention to the stealth tax, and deceptiveness of the regional district. There is a bylaw change and tax increase proposed (bylaw 850 and 851) that will go through unless people come in to object. There is a website of the regional district that allows input and petition signing, and I printed the forms, signed them, and brought them in, only to be told that the forms from behind the desk were the only ones they would accept. Negative option pricing is unethical and illegal with consumer products but the regional district seems happy with it. The lack of transparency, stealth and deceptiveness, is enough not to trust they have considered wishes of the Comox Valley residents.
