The Comox Seniors' Centre honoured more than 80 volunteers at a catered luncheon in the newly renovated ballroom at d’Esterre House on Sunday.

President Charlie Richardson presented life memberships to Dave Robinson and Tony Hermes for their long and extraordinary service.

Special awards also went to Arabella Benson for her sustained and creative work on the Brain Booster program and to John Barrett for his service and excellent cabinetry work on the new renovations in and around the centre.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of any non-profit organization and the centre is blessed by the services of 80-plus volunteers serving a membership of more than 900 seniors. The volunteers help to run more than 30 different activities and a nutritious lunch program for the 55+ community.

For more information, visit comoxseniors.ca or call Charlie Richardson at 250-897-0015.
