This year on Remembrance Day, I’m honoured to gather together with our communities to remember and honour the sacrifices made by those who came before us and those actively serving now.

Remembrance Day is a solemn reminder to us all of the horrors of war. While we are fortunate that some of the brave people who fought against the Nazis and their allies in the Second World War are still with us, we must listen carefully to their experiences and stories, keeping them alive and vivid for future generations to learn from. We must never forget the devastation and impact of war.

Hearing from those who have survived global conflicts is a reminder of the hard work and effort it takes to create and maintain peace. It is a reminder of the cost of war. I pledge to keep listening, to continue to share these stories, and to work alongside my community toward more peace everywhere.
