The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) board announced that James Warren has been appointed the new chief administrative officer (CAO) for the regional district beginning Nov. 15.

Warren has been with the regional district for more than 18 years and has held progressive leadership roles during this time. Since 2020, Warren has been the deputy CAO and as of last April has been the acting CAO for the regional district.

He is honoured by the appointment of the board and is looking forward to continuing to serve the Comox Valley and working with the team of exceptional staff at the CVRD.

“The CAO position is the regional district’s lead staff person and is tasked with balancing the political interests of the board with the organization’s operations to deliver public services,” said CVRD board chair Will Cole-Hamilton. “James’s experience allows him to draw on relationships and knowledge to lead the organization and continue to deliver on its 99 services.”
