Team Canada heads into quarter-final match against Switzerland on Thursday, Jan. 11, looking every bit as dominant as expected. The Canadians clobbered their opposition in the round-robin portion, outscoring opponents by a 29-1 margin. They opened the tournament with a 10-0 thrashing of Germany on Jan. 6, followed by an 8-1 dismantling of Czexhi the following day, and completed their preliminary play dominance with an 11-0 victory over Finland.
Comox Valley product Morgan Jackson figured prominently in all three games. She had two goals against Germany, another pair against Czechia, and added two assists in the Finland win.
She finished second in the tournament in plus/minus (+10), trailing only teammate Chloe Primerano in that statistic.
The 17-year-old forward is one of a handful of British Columbians on the team (as well as three players from Rink Hockey Academy in Kelowna, including Primerano).
Game time for the quarter-final match against Switzerland is 8 a.m. PST. TSN4 has it live.
