The Comox Valley Glacier Kings lost 6-0 Thursday to the host Nanaimo Buccaneers.
Then on Saturday at the Comox Valley Sports Centre, the Yetis lost 4-2 to the Campbell River Storm. The visitors were up 2-0 at the end of the first period. Less than a minute into the second, rookie defender Mauro D’Alessandro got the home side on the board, with assists from Benjamin Bretelland Willie Daigneault.
Campbell River made it 3-1 at the 9:30 mark of the third, but D’Alessandro struck again at 11:06, with Jake McKenzie assisting. But the visitors struck again at 14:10 with a power play goal.
D’Alessandro earned first star honours while Kings forward Damian Rennie, also a rookie, was selected third star.
The Kings have just two wins on the season. They face the Peninsula Panthers Friday in Victoria.
The Bucs have won 12 games, and sit atop the VIJHL North Division with 24 points. The Storm is in second with 23 points.
