Brad Jacobs Team Alberta rink are Brier champions. 

The team of Jacobs, Marc Kennedy, Brett Gallant and Ben Hebert outlasted Matt Dunstone's Team Manitoba to win, 5-3 at Kelowna's Prospera Place. 

The game started with four straight blank ends, although, despite fans' yells of 'boring', difficult shots were made.

Dunstone got on the board first in the fifth, with a double.

Then, the teams traded singles in the sixth and seventh before another blank in the eighth set up a nervy final two ends. 

In the ninth, a rare mistake from Dunstone on his second last rock, where he missed everything, led to just a single in the ninth, to go up one. 

The tenth was all Jacobs. Soft shots from Manitoba lead Colton Lott and Dunstone set up any easy takeout for Jacobs to nab three and the Brier trophy.

Now, as part of Team Canada, Jacobs will be off to Moose Jaw, Sask, for the World Championships, which take place March 29- April 6. 

"This rejuvenated me, and all the credit goes to my team for doing what they do and challenging me," said Jacobs after the match. "We are going to wear the maple leaf with pride and make our country proud!"
