Dear editor,
The anti-logging protest at Fairy Creek is a direct result of John Horgan’s successful election call last year.
The NDP have mixed and opposing loyalties to environmentalists as well as to union workers such as loggers. The Greens have no such mixed loyalties.
The coalition minority government prior to the last election would not have permitted the approval of logging. By calling an unnecessary election last year when polls were attractive, the NDP rid itself of the reliance on Greens which gave it the freedom to act as it has.
NDP supporters who are anti-logging must remember the above facts and consider which party is more likely to act in accordance with their values.
