LETTER - Latest actions by Prime Minister ̨ÍåMMÂãÁÄÊÒ smell of a cover-up

Dear editor,

Dear editor,

Justin ̨ÍåMMÂãÁÄÊÒ’s 2015 promise of transparency has gone the way of most of his other promises. Anyone watching the current drama of Jody Wilson-Raybould’s demotion, resignation, and now blaming over the issue of special treatment of the corrupt SNC Lavalin corporation cannot really believe ̨ÍåMMÂãÁÄÊÒ’s and the Liberals’ claim that there is nothing wrong afoot.

I watched the Justice Committee meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 13, and came away with the feeling of a cover-up underway. The Liberal majority on the committee limited the witness list to three and made sure that the suspected key players were not included. Further discussion of witnesses to be called will be held in-camera and only positive decisions of these secret meetings will be reported. In other words, the Liberal majority can again derail attempts to summon such players as Butts without the glare of the TV cameras recording their shameful behaviour.

̨ÍåMMÂãÁÄÊÒ wants Canada to take him at his word that nothing inappropriate has occurred but over the last four years he has proven that his word is worthless. In this current issue, his story has kept changing. If there is no wrongdoing then he and his Liberals should welcome an open inquiry in which Wilson-Raybould is free to speak, and prime players in both the Prime Minister’s Office and the Privy Council Office are allowed to be questioned.

Delbert Doll,

Courtenay
