Letter - It’s time to think seriously about damming the Cruikshank River

Dear editor,
33196896_web1_230628-NBU-letter-cassidy-aquifer-1_1

Dear editor,

There is a confluence of sorts going on in the Comox Valley.

The City of Courtenay is conducting a flood management study, BC Hydro is looking for new sustainable energy sources and the BC River Forecast Centre is expressing concern over coming drought conditions.

This means it is high time that the idea of a dam on the Cruikshank River be seriously considered.

This dam could produce the sustainable energy BC Hydro is looking for, store the water the Forecast Centre says is needed and control the flooding the City of Courtenay is worried about.

What more could you ask for?

Erik Eriksson

Courtenay
