LETTER - If opioid crisis affected dogs, solutions would come more quickly

Dear editor,

Dear editor,

I was pretty impressed with how quickly and sensibly Comox Council dealt with the problem couple using bear spray on dogs that were “illegally” off-leash in the Northeast Woods; namely, by designating (if only temporarily and until further study) the whole park an off-leash area. Was that so hard? No, it wasn’t. It was fast, and it was right.

It got me thinking that, if only our dogs were dying of opioid overdose, maybe we’d do something quicker about that, too.
