LETTER - Courtenay’s Big Island Book Fest a wonderful experience for author

My heartfelt gratitude to J P Bailey, H Wilson Books and Tinshack Creative for the fantastic Big Island Book Fest held on Oct. 14 at the Filberg Centre in Courtenay.

As one of the participants who had the opportunity to sell my books at an author table alongside Comox Valley writer Judy LeBlanc (The Promise of Water and The Broken Heart of Winter), I can’t thank you enough for the incredible experience.

The atmosphere at the Big Island Book Fest was inspiring, and I interacted with readers, fellow authors, young writers of fantasy fiction, erotica, and also nonfiction, and all the book enthusiasts who attended. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with my readers. I had no idea we have so many talented writers in the Comox Valley.

J P Bailey’s dedication to fostering a supportive writing community is truly commendable, and I look forward to participating in her future events. Hard work and attention to detail shone through!

Once again, thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the Big Island Book Fest.

Cornelia Hoogland,

Hornby Island
