Dear editor,
I applaud rural residents from all rural CVRD areas A, B and C for taking the time to participate in the very undemocratic alternate approval process and rejecting rural roadside recycling. Personally, I supported the service that would cost about half of what I pay for garbage and landfill service, but it is the manipulation of rural residents, which is the issue. All rural recycling sites were closed to force rural residents into roadside pickup. Bullying, it is called today.
I suggest that the elected CVRD directors of areas A, B, and C immediately restore rural recycling facilities, or resign.
Phil Harrison,
Comox
