Dear editor,
I have been more critical of VIHA than anybody I know.
I also have had huge fights with both the NDP and the provincial Liberals over health care.
So it might seem out of character for me to say now is the time to praise VIHA, Charlie Cornfeld and the regional hospital board, and MLA Don McRae.
It seems like we are really getting a new hospital in the Comox Valley and Campbell River. This is the best health care news we have ever had. Finally the North Island may be treated equally to the rest of the Island.
I hope everyone will let them get on with it. If construction hasn’t started by the next election, calls to throw the bastards out and asking the VIHA board to resign sound good to me. In the meantime, please forget about recall so we don’t screw up the new hospitals.
Mike Holland,
Courtenay
