MANY SAFE TRAVELS to all… I want to sincerely apologize to the blue truck for driving recklessly on Anderton Road. We chatted after I stopped and I am sincerely regretful of my behaviour and thankful no one was hurt.

TO THE WOMAN at Home Depot on Sunday with the dark blue Jeep Wrangler with the mountain bikes on the back.. you backed into my truck and when you saw us coming out you beelined it into the store. Wasn’t till I got home and checked my dashcam I saw you had hit me then just pulled ahead. Thanks for the $300 dent in my truck… what goes around comes around. I hope some karma gets you the same way.

AN OUTSTANDING ROUND of applause for Jen LeBleu of Red’s Place at the Comox Golf Club and her capable staff, Synthia, Garry, Nick, Toni, Ross and Janice. She was able to provide the ladies at the North Island Tournament an amazing meal and a fun time all weekend on very short notice.

BIG BEEF to a local firewood supplier and caution to firewood purchasers! I ordered 80 per cent fir and 20 per cent hemlock firewood. Vendor advised he delivered two cords. I paid him $450 cash. Piled firewood revealed 1 1/2 to 1 2/3 cords. Consisted of 50 per cent fir, 45 per cent cedar and 5 per cent junk wood. Called vendor to advise of my findings. He said he would make it right. A week later there still had been no making it right. I called him and he told me that there was nothing wrong with the wood he delivered and hung up on me. I tried again to resolve… no luck! Gave full details to Better Business Bureau with desired resolution. BBB presented my concern to the firewood supplier who failed to respond. Based on many registered complaints, the BBB listed my concern for the behaviour of this local firewood supplier. Caution to firewood purchasers. Check the BBB VI website before you buy firewood!

FOUR BIG BOUQUETS of summery flowers to the amazing singers of Swing Set….Jenn, Michele, Dale and Wendy put together a fabulous show June 1. Thank you for the music!

A HUGE BEEF and flat bike tires to two middle-aged men, riding their bikes on 5th Street near Harmston on the roadway in front of the traffic. We taxpayers gave you bikers ‘Bike Lanes’ and you don’t even know enough to use them. As for making a left-hand turn from a bike lane, you could get off your bike and walk it across the crosswalk.

BIG BEEF the complainers and to the Comox bureaucrat who think accordions are too loud for buskers to play. I’ll bet that these complainers never complained about loud boom cars, motorcycles or trucks on the streets of Comox. Looking at the photos, the accordions are not the full 120 bass models so these accordions do not play as loud. I suspect anti-accordion prejudice. Listening to accordion music is refreshing compared to the loud unmelodic noise that passes as popular music these days!

BIG BEEFSto the Union Bay Improvement District. After all the controversy regarding the election and the annual general meeting, the AGM was finally held on June 3rd at the community hall in Union Bay. Lo and behold, guess what? The chief administrative officer and the deputy financial officer couldn’t be bothered to attend the meeting. There were no excuses given by the chairman of the board. This is a slap in the face to all landowners expecting to hear what the community’s financial position is for 2019. Absolutely disgusting behaviour.

THANKS TOthe guys at Walker 24 Menswear for all their help with my son’s grad suit. Great service!

A HUGE BOUQUET and thanks to all my friends and neighbours in Meroulet Place. So many were very generous in their donations to the Grand Parade, which was very successful. I feel so lucky to live around so many nice people.

***

MARS would like to thank the people at Mainroad North Island Contracting for helping MARS Wildlife Rescue with dust control. Job well done.

A ROOM FULL of roses and a world full of thanks to all our Canadian Veterans and others, who were killed during WW2 on June 6th l944 (.D-Day and beyond), to keep peace in this world, and to all the veterans who are keeping us safe today. I lost two members of my family, one was 21 when he was killed two days before the war ended in 1945. He is buried in Holland, and the other was shot down in a plane over the English Channel and was never found. Words can never thank you enough.

THIS IS A big bouquet to Tomco Maintenance. They came in powerwashed and painted my deck then several of my neighbours. What a nice professional person. What a great job he does.
