This year marks the 149th birthday of the Comox Valley Exhibition (CVEX), which celebrates the region’s rich agricultural legacy.
According to box office co-ordinator Maxine LeFlour, the event has been a resounding success, drawing hundreds of attendees from all corners of the province and beyond.
A wide array of activities, including a strongman competition, a lumberjack show, a live chainsaw carver performance and a canine long jump competition, kept onlookers entertained throughout this three-day celebration.
CVEX also provided an opportunity for local food vendors, artisans, and artists to engage with those strolling around the exhibition grounds.
As it has been made entirely possible by the dedicated efforts of volunteers, LaFlour extends an invitation to anyone willing to contribute a few hours of their time next year to assist with the preparations for the event’s 150th birthday celebration.
