Cycling Canada has hired former professional road cyclist Nigel Ellsay of Courtenay for the position of national team coach – road lead.

The University of Northern British Columbia Women’s Soccer program has started its 2022 recruiting class with a major dose of athleticism and poise, officially announcing the commitment of Comox Valley product Kaitlyn Anderson for the upcoming Canada West and U SPORTS season.

Courtenay’s Thomas Plant has signed with the University of Victoria Golden Tide baseball team of the Canadian College Baseball Conference.

Team Richards was crowned Under-18 provincial curling champions on the weekend in Delta.

The Comox Valley Disc Golf Club (CVDGC) and its sponsors raised more than $1,900 in cash donations, and three large shopping carts full of food donations for the Comox Valley Food Bank last month at the club’s year-end event, the Valley Finale.

A pair of Comox Valley teams won their divisions at the Pacific FC Winter Classic soccer tournament last weekend at the Island Training Centre in Langford. Teams compete in six versus six games at the annual tournament.
