The hockey season ended Sunday for the Comox Valley Glacier Kings, who lost 3-1 to the Oceanside Generals in Parksville in the seventh game of the first round of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL) playoffs.

A trio of graduating basketball players in the Comox Valley have been selected to the North Island girls Grade 12 all-star team.

After being ranked number four in B.C. the past few weeks, the Isfeld Ice senior boys basketball team is the seventh seed heading into the triple-A provincial championships March 9-12 in Langley. Isfeld recently hosted and won the Vancouver Island triple-A tourney. The team has compiled a 27-1 win-loss record so far this season.

Twenty members of the Strathcona Nordic ski club, nine to 12 years, competed last weekend at the Teck Track Attack Championships in Kelowna. More than 250 athletes from 21 clubs in B.C. and Washington State took part in the two-day event designed to celebrate athletes in the Track Attack age group (9-12).
