Miss playing baseball? The senior slo-pitch team might just be what you are looking for. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the senior slo-pitch team meets at Lewis Park in Courtenay on the ball fields at 9:30 a.m. The new season starts April 22.
The program is run by the Evergreen Club in the Florence Filberg Centre, which runs several programs for those 55 and older.
The senior slo-pitch program allows those who love playing baseball to play with other like minded individuals who want to keep active and play at a more relaxed pace.
There are social gatherings in the park after the game where everyone who has been playing is welcome to meet up, relax and meet each other off the playing field.
This is a program by Seniors for Seniors who want to connect, stay healthy and active and teach other Seniors to play and have fun.
