The Eureka Support Society recently received a donation of $5,295.40 from the Rotary Club of Comox.

This contribution will significantly advance the society’s Laundry Room Renovation Project, aimed at enhancing accessibility and functionality for its members.

With the Rotary Club’s support, Eureka will address infrastructure needs, including the replacement of an aging hot water tank and the installation of a ground-level mop sink.

The renovation will involve a redesign of the space to enhance user-friendliness and efficiency. Flooring, painting, and trim work will be completed by Eureka members, alongside staff and volunteers.

“The Comox Valley is blessed to have groups like Comox Rotary that step up to help when called on,” said Brennan Day, Eureka’s executive director. “Fundraising… is the most challenging (part) and Rotary is always there to help us.

“Not only will this donation enable us to address critical infrastructure needs, but it also underscores the power of community collaboration in creating positive change.”

The Eureka Support Society, located at 280 4th St., assists individuals facing mental health challenges. In collaboration with Island Health, the Comox Valley Community Foundation, and community partners such as the Comox Rotary, Eureka works tirelessly to support its members on their journey toward mental wellness.
