Comox Valley RCMP is investigating a threat that resulted in a precautionary lockdown at Mark R Isfeld Secondary School yesterday (Oct.10) afternoon.

Just after 1:00 p.m., Comox Valley RCMP received a report that a person was headed to the school with a weapon. Out of an abundance of caution, the school was placed into a lockdown.

“The investigation is still in its early stages; however, I can confirm that a youth has been taken into custody without incident and that there is no ongoing threat to the safety of students, staff, or the public.” Said Cst. Monika Terragni, Media Relations Officer, Comox Valley RCMP.

The lockdown was lifted before 1:20 p.m., with classes resuming in the afternoon.
