Courtenay recreation is hosting its annual dog swim at the Courtenay Outdoor pool in Lewis Park on Aug. 31. This is the last event of the summer before the pool shuts down for the winter. Bring your dog down to the pool with proof of rabies vaccination, and let them splash about in the pool.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the big pool open for dogs both big and small. Only dogs are allowed in the pool during this time.
Staff from Van Isle Veterinary Clinic will be on hand to support the safety of all the furry swimmers and Woofy鈥檚 Pet Foods will have pet-friendly giveaways.
Admission is $5 and all proceeds donated to the local SPCA.
