Dear Editor,

National Seniors Day, Oct 1, is a time many reflect on what we are leaving for our grandchildren.

As Canada's carbon footprint continues to go up, our legacy seems to be drought, fire, floods, crop failures and the misery of forced immigration.  Seniors for Climate is a demand by seniors for action in the face of this enormous injustice. On Oct 1, seniors are encouraged to phone or write their elected representative and demand meaningful action on climate change.

And then to continue phoning, writing and in short, stand to be counted. Rampant climate change is an unthinkable future, the time to change direction is now. Seniors are one in four of the population, the future needs us. We have a voice and we have a duty to use it.

Sincerely,
Amanda Vaughan
