Unseen Mountains.

Unseen Mountains is a free performance of live experimental film and music featuring multiple reel to reel celluloid creations of Dr. Monotony on film projectors.

Taking over a year to make due to various postponements, the performance will feature the cinematic improvisations of Air Above Mountains  (Destanne Lundquist - analogue synth + mbira, Scott Bertram - electric guitar + effects,  Jesse Gentes - drum set, Persian percussion + effects) and the ambient textures of  Unseen Sight (Joshua Klassen - samples, electronics + objects, Dave Miklos -  homemade instruments, effects, objects + clarinet).

Together with Dr Monotony’s filmic compositions, the two bands form the multimedia project Unseen Mountains.

Admission to this performance is free and open to the public. The project is made possible through the Comox Valley Arts Incubator Microgrant program as a means to engage the public through innovative and experimental works with minimal social and financial barriers.

This will be an immersive environment for active listening and viewing. Audience members are encouraged to bring something comfortable such as a blanket or pillows to lie on the floor with. Seating will also be available.

The performance is Oct. 26 at Weird Church in Cumberland. Doors are at  7:30 p.m., performance 8:00 p.m..
