Tickets are now on sale for local funk/soul band Time Well Wasted presenting its annual Spring Fling Fundraiser this Saturday at the Filberg Centre in Courtenay.
For those new to the Valley and not familiar with Time Well Wasted, they are a 13-piece band complete with a five-piece tight horn section, three female singers 鈥� Helen Austin, Charity Munro and Juno Award winner Sue Medley front the band 鈥� and a rock-steady rhythm section.
For those who attend each year, you know to get your tickets early as this is always a sold-out event.
If you like the big sounds of Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder, Chicago, Tower of Power and Donna Summers, there鈥檚 Doobie Dancing fun for all.
If you have seen this band before, you are in for a treat. With five new members in the band, it has taken on a new energy and some new material.
The fundraiser benefits the L鈥橝rche group for a new home they are building.
Presented by 97.3 the Eagle, with co-sponsors The Record and Sure Copy, this year as well a guitar has been donated by Long and McQuade that will be autographed by Sue Medley and given away to a lucky audience member.
Doors open at 8 p.m. with opening act Amy Cunningham and Paul Rodgers starting at 8:15.
