Courtenay is set to come alive with creativity and community spirit this summer at Pulse on the Plaza, a vibrant arts-based event series held on the fourth Friday of July, August, and September.

The events will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. on the plaza in front of the Comox Valley Art Gallery in downtown Courtenay. They will feature live music, art installations, dancing, and make art stations.

The events are free, and everyone is welcome. They are scheduled for the Fridays of July 26, Aug. 23, and Sept. 27.

Event highlights include music by local bands and solo artists, showcasing a variety of musical genres; family-friendly dancing sessions led by local instructors; Make-Art Stations with interactive activities suitable for all ages; CVAG’s exhibition Diane Landry: Matter in Time will be open late.

“Summer Pulse on the Plaza is a family-friendly event designed to inspire and engage participants of all ages,” says Jenny Casey, executive director of the Comox Valley Community Arts Council.

“Whether you're an art enthusiast, a performer, or simply looking to enjoy a fun evening with your neighbours, these events have something for everyone.”

Summer Pulse on the Plaza is organized in partnership with Comox Valley Community Arts Council, Elevate the Arts, CVAG and the Downtown Courtenay Business Improvement Association.

Additional support comes from Lush Valley, CVOX, Queer Culture, and Pride Comox Valley, all working together to foster a vibrant and inclusive community through the arts.
