Kirstin Humpherys is the winner of this year鈥檚 Nonny Milne Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Arts.

Humpherys鈥檚 resume includes decades of contributions to the cultural life of Comox Valley.

She established and ran an art gallery on Hornby Island in the 1980s and 1990s, she has directed numerous plays that have been performed in the Comox Valley, she is the current vice-president of Courtenay Little Theatre鈥檚 board of directors, and she has been an active volunteer with the Little Theatre for more than a decade.

Humpherys has also used her administrative skills to support cultural groups in the Comox Valley, including serving as bookkeeper for the Comox Valley Youth Music Centre and the Comox Valley Art Gallery for several years.

The Comox Valley Art Gallery presents the Nonny Milne Award to an individual, family, or collective every year. The award is named after the late Nonny Milne, a former president of the Comox Valley Art Gallery鈥檚 board of directors who dedicated her life to supporting the arts.

The award was presented at CVAG鈥檚 Annual General Meeting on May 25. At the meeting, Jasmin Badrin was selected for another year as president of the CVAG board of directors.
