The Pearl Ellis Gallery is officially a part of this year's Comox Summer Fest on Saturday, June 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 pm.

This vibrant annual event brings summer fun to downtown Comox, featuring more than 40 vendors, live entertainment, special offers from local businesses, and family-friendly activities.

Pearl Ellis Gallery will set up a booth in front of the gallery, where they will offer custom mini paintings created live by their talented member artists. Attendees can request a subject—anything from a tree or flower to a night sky or a baseball mitt. Attendees will have the opportunity to watch these talented artists at work and receive a personalized mini-masterpiece. While the event is free to attend, participants are encouraged to donate to support the gallery’s ongoing programs and initiatives.

"We are excited to host this fundraiser and share the artistic process with the community," said Susan Sarada, vice president of the board at The Pearl Ellis Gallery. "It’s a wonderful opportunity for individuals to support local art and take home a unique piece created just for them."

In addition to the gallery's event, the Comox Museum, which shares space with the gallery, is hosting a cooling station inside the gallery and the museum. Attendees can pop inside to cool off in their air-conditioned spaces and enjoy a complimentary cold beverage. While inside, visitors can check out the current show, Emerging Voices, The Pearl's annual high school show. This year's show features paintings and sculptures by students from Highland Secondary and Georges P. Vanier Secondary schools.

All proceeds from the donations will go towards funding future exhibitions, workshops, and community outreach programs organized by The Pearl Ellis Gallery.
