The Harry Bartlett Trio will be playing a concert at the 40 Knots Winery on Nov. 10. The group is Canadian but from their sound you would think they are straight out of West Texas. The trio is influenced by Charlie Haden, Bill Frisell and Brad Mehldau.

After growing up in the Pacific Northwest, Harry moved to Toronto in 2016 to study jazz guitar at the University of Toronto. He has appeared in festivals and venues across Canada and into the states, notably “The 5 Spot” in Nashville. His compositions “transcend a single genre”, blending an improvisational approach with old time, folk, and western influences.

Bartlett is joined by Evan Snoey (violin/fiddle) and Emilio Suarez (bass) to make up the trio. Snoey’s background in traditional styles combined with contemporary music education allow him to not only thrive in jazz, but also in bluegrass, old-time, chamber and improvisatory music and to blend them together. Suarez is a Calgary born musician and composer. His style ranges from jazz and bebop to contemporary, classical, and pop. He has been featured on many recordings that cross all these genres.

Downbeat is 1:30 p.m., admission is $25.00 ($20.00 for members).
