It’s time to boogie with blues artist extraordinaire, David Gogo, at a fundraising concert on Friday, Nov. 24, 7 p.m. at St. George’s United Church.
The concert will raise money for the Comox Valley Food Bank and St. George’s. Tickets are $25 in advance at Eventbrite ( or $30 at the door.
Guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable donations for the Comox Valley Food Bank, as well. There will be a collection box at the door.
Gogo, a Nanaimo native, has six Juno award nominations and been named Guitarist of the Year three times at the Maple Blues Awards, was named Musician of the Year at the West Coast Music Awards, and won Blues Recording of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards. He also received the Great Canadian Blues Award for his lifetime contribution to the blues in Canada, as voted by the listeners of CBC’s Saturday Night Blues.
St. George’s raises funds through a variety of events during the year to benefit local non-profits. In 2022, the church donated more than $20,000 to community groups, including Habitat for Humanity, LUSH, the Transition Society, and many others.
