Katy Bowen-Roberts, show creator and artistic director, is welcoming two local artists back to the Comox Valley for the 16th annual Yellowpoint Christmas Spectacular.
Victoria Stolting will be singing the alto role in this year’s show. She grew up in the Comox Valley performing with Rainbow Youth Theatre, CYMC as well as training at Pantuso Dance. After graduating from Highland Secondary she went to Victoria to study at the Canadian College for Performing Arts and since graduating from there, has performed with the Victoria Symphony, The Belfry Theatre, Hermann’s Jazz Club and has played various roles in film and television.
Sarah Sheehan has been cast as a dancer in this year’s show. Sarah also grew up in the Comox Valley where she studied acting with Sitka Stage and Screen, voice with Carrie Lempke, music at Motif Studio and all styles of dance at Pantuso. She has many fond memories of performing in shows with CYMC and Rainbow Youth Theatre. She currently lives in Vancouver where she has been working in commercials and a soon-to-be-released indie film.
Bowen-Roberts is also excited to share with you that the show will be supporting Y.A.N.A. in the Comox Valley this year with their 50/50 ticket sales.
“We are excited to [be] able to fundraise for this very wonderful organization. We will draw a winning ticket at every performance,” said Bowen-Roberts.
There is something in this show for everyone! From Rock & Roll to pop, Broadway and classical. Patrons are encouraged to get to the box office soon so as not to miss out on this year’s spectacular!
This year's singing and dancing extravaganza includes musical medleys of well known songs by Van Morrison, Dolly Parton and Taylor Swift, as well favorites from the musical Grease, a nostalgia set, a collection of James Bond movie hits, Ave Maria, Bing Crosby's classic 'White Christmas' and many more classical hits and Christmas favourites.
