The Courtenay and District Museum has released a new coffee table book Step into Wilderness.
This hardcover book provides the backstory to many outdoor locations in and around the Comox Valley and features more than 150 images.
The photographs are the star of the show. Gorgeous scenic shots are side by side with informal captures of events. From a group of friends in a snowball fight on Forbidden Plateau to a fisher displaying a big catch from Comox Bay, the historic photos highlight fun and hard work by those naturally inclined to the great outdoors.
Step into Wilderness: A Pictorial History of Outdoor Exploration in and Around the Comox Valley is the companion volume to the museum’s popular 2015 release Watershed Moments. Both books are available at independent bookstores as well as the Courtenay Museum gift shop. Check out the museum’s web page for more information or call 250-334-0686, ext. 2.
