Singer-songwriter Richard Garvey of the Comox Valley has released his new album, In The Arms of Lovers and Friends. It is a collection of 12 new songs and showcases Garvey’s songwriting skills and his tenor voice.

This album was produced, mixed and mastered in Cumberland by Corwin Fox. Musical support was provided by Naomi Kavka and her band from Smithers B.C..

The songs on the album conquer such themes as mental health, climate change and reimagining what hope means in a divided world.

Producer Fox leads her voice to the harmony on Let Me Be an Overgrown Yard and Marina Avros of The Belle Miners joins in on Bee Balm.

The Walls Will All Fall Down saw all album collaborators come together on the sing-along chorus of this folk song about abolishing prisons.

Garvey has already released two singles from the album, Crack Me Open and All the Love while having a busy summer tour schedule with many festival performances across B.C..

Garvey has two upcoming shows - Sept. 13 at the Shawnigan Lake Community Centre and Sept. 15 at Sound Heritage in Nanaimo.

More concert dates for the late fall and 2025 will be announced soon.
